So Dartford Borough Council in their wisdom decided to spend the council tax on purchasing a baseball cap for every school child in the borough. They bear the uplifting slogan:- 'VE DAY: Darford's finest hour.'

First of all it seemed kind of apt that Dartford's finest hour should have been 60 years ago. I'm only surprised its that recent.

Secondly, how fun it was to see the children filing up one behind the other to partake of the olde englande traditional baseball cap ceremony. And no, they weren't merely handed the baseball caps, they were actually placed on their heads!

Bizarre.

And then of course Maria had to give the whole ocassion her own personal touch. She remarked that she thought they would at least have had the name of our school on them.

Oh yeah right. VE DAY. Dartford and Our Lady's finest hour.
Betcha couldn't have missed her on the beaches.
